What Happens if there is an Emergency at my Rental Home?

What Happens if there is an Emergency at my Rental Home?

If an emergency happens at the home or apartment you are renting, the first thing to do is make sure to get you and your family to safety! The safety and security of the residents in the home is our number one concern when dealing with an emergency situation.

If the emergency situation is causing an immediate danger or threat, call 911. Examples of this would be a fire, a break-in, or a medical emergency. Only after getting to safety and calling 911 for a true emergency should you then call the Illume Property Management emergency line at 503-850-8740 and alert our staff to the specifics of the problem.

If 911 is not needed, Illume Property Management has a maintenance hotline (503-850-8740) to help you deal with serious maintenance issues in your home. The number can be reached at all hours, and the operator will be able to connect you with our Illume maintenance staff immediately. The circumstances in which you should call the emergency number include:

  • Flood
  • Uncontrollable water
  • Electrical problem that poses a threat
  • Backed up sewer
  • No heat

If you have a maintenance need that is not an emergency, first check out the maintenance troubleshooting guide on our website to determine if there is an easy fix to the problem. If you don’t find your problem or circumstance listed, call the maintenance hotline at 503-850-8740 and leave a voicemail (press #4 when prompted) with your request.

Current residents can also submit your maintenance request directly from our website.  Non-emergency requests will be completed within 24-48 hours.
